Sunday March 5th; EUROSCRIPT: Making a drama out of a crisis. 10am -5:30pm

Most writers have important things to say - about life, love, politics or just the plain old human condition. A powerful film such as I, Daniel Blake will not only open eyes, it will inform public opinion and maybe even inspire social change.

This practical one day workshop will give you the practical tools you need to develop your passion-project for the appropriate market. Learn how to avoid the pitfalls of the genre and engage your audience - at the same time as inspiring potential commissioning editors, producers and clients. Tutor Anji Loman Field (www.anjilomanfield.com) wrote and produced drama for BBC Media Action and other International Development clients in South East Asia for almost a decade and is currently co-producing a whistleblower feature film.

To book, visit the following page. http://www.euroscript.co.uk/making-a-drama-out-of-a-crisis.html

Taught by Fenella Greenfield, a freelance promo producer who has won awards both here and in the States for her work, will guide you in a class that teaches how to write a great treatment. £85 (£75 concessions and if you belong to one these organisations:  WGGB, WFTV, Society of Authors, BECTU, ITF, Directors UK, Newman House, London Writers' Cafe and Scenaristengilde)

Saturday 3rd December; EUROSCRIPT; WRITING NEO-NOIR.
Do you find antiheroes and flawed, conflicted or damaged protagonists intriguing?  Are you attracted to stories that resist the easy certainty of happy endings and neat resolutions?  Then Neo-Noir is probably the genre you should be writing - and you need to know more about it.  These stories show us the dangerous, self-damaging side of human nature. In addition, they often reveal the flaws in our institutions which enable it to flourish, making the genre a useful vehicle for social commentary.  This seminar unpacks the genre to find the ideas that make it tick, and shows how these can be applied to make great new stories.
10am-5.30pm.

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November 2016; EUROSCRIPT: WRITING FOR RADIO.
Radio can engage the audience more fully than any other medium. You hear a voice, a sound effect, a pause, another voice; perhaps some music.  The only limit is your own imagination.  But those sounds can have immense impact and power, because you participate in what they create: YOU complete the picture; YOU visualize the scene; YOU are in the story.  For the writer, radio can be the most creative medium of all.  This course covers nearly every aspect of writing for radio: comedy gags, sketches and shows; radio sitcoms and series;  short drama; full-length drama; radio ads - and beyond, to explore all the possibilities of work in the medium.
10am-5.30pm.  CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS.

.Saturday 16th April 2016; EUROSCRIPT: CREATING FEAR IN FILMS.
Fear is a fundamental emotion, and almost all audiences demand a level of fear from films (no matter how much they may pretend otherwise).  Some of our best-loved cinema memories involve frightening characters, scary moods and shocking moments.  So it follows that many genres must deliver fear in a variety of convincing ways.  But what is fear, exactly?  Why do people want (or need) to be scared?  And how can we successfully weave fear into powerful stories?  The workshop will answer these questions, illustrating its concepts with some carefully-chosen clips while stimulating exercises will help you to master the ideas and apply them to your own work.
10am-6pm.  CLICK FOR TICKET.
